From the designer:

'Inspired by the Royal Game of Ur apparently the world's oldest board game. It's really quite fun, you should play the web version against a computer or with a friend. I've modified it to be played with more standard components and with a slightly different twist.'

Goal: Move all your dice to the ending space before your opponent, using your opponent's own dice as speed boosts along the way.

You’ll need a chess board and six dice for each player, each in their own color. These are your pieces for the game and what you’ll be rolling to see how far you move along the board in each turn. At the beginning of the game, each player’s dice begin off the board.

On your turn, roll a die, even if it’s not your own. Move it a number of spaces equal to the die result, always following the designated path illustrated in the diagram on the website. Keep the die result face-up when you’re done moving. If one of your dice lands on your opponent’s die, you may move forward an extra number of spaces equal to the opponent’s die’s face-up number. If you land on another die, continue moving until you land on an empty space.

If you land on one of your own dice, you must move back a number of spaces equal to equal to its face-up number. If you land on another die, continue moving until you land on an empty space.

If your die roll causes you to land on a sequence of dice that results in an infinite loop (back 2, forward 2, back 2, etc.) then you must re-roll.

To reach the end space, you must roll a number that would land you directly on it. No more, no less. If your die roll does not allow you to move that many spaces, you may not re-roll.
