PomotaPomota
Designer: Daniel Solis Why are giant mecha fighting an undead army? Why is a school of young wizards duking it out with a school of teen superheroes? Why are collectible monsters battling a guitar-wielding mariachi band? Why not? There is no spoon. There’s no premise either. This is a stripped-down tactical miniature game between small factions of ludicrous combatants inspired by all aspects of pop culture. From the designer: It's always been something of a dream of mine to have a combative game where the combatants are pulled from all aspects of pop culture with no backstory to explain why the [heck] they're fighting each other. I don't mean something as simple as the whole warriors-pulled-from-throughout-history schtick, I mean warriors-pulled-from-pop-culture. Godzilla vs. Pokemon? Sure! Xavier's vs. Hogwart's? Hell yeah! You can enact your ultimate crossover battle. Keep in mind that as of this writing, none of this has been playtested, so I'd be very happy to hear any comments you might have. Oh, by the way, "Pomota" is short for Postmodern Tactics. "Postmodern" because of the ecclectic group of factions and "Tactics" because of the influence of video games like Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Arena Online. |
