The game takes place in the valley of Katmandou, during the 19th century, at the time of the discovery of many prestigious archeological sites. The players are men of influence, who direct archaeologists, and other special characters, in order to accumulate a maximum of fame, as represented by points.

The excavations occur automatically. At each site, they expand circumferentially. Each player will have to position archaeologists so as to 'prepare' the fields of excavations, then call upon the special characters, to validate and remove the discoveries, in order to gain fame.

The rules are in French, but a rough translation of the rules is available from the game's BGG entry.
