ImpasseImpasse
Designer: Mark Steere Impasse is an abstract strategy game designed for a Checkers set. While borrowing the equipment of Checkers, and being influenced by the game of Checkers, Impasse is really not a Checkers variant. There is no jumping or capturing. Draws and ties cannot occur in Impasse. The game starts and ends, and somebody wins. From the BGG entry: Played with a standard Checkers/Draughts set. Singles move diagonally forward any number of squares. Doubles move diagonally backward any number of squares. Kind of a blocking, racing game. Draws and ties cannot occur. Object: remove all of your own checkers from the board. |
