Flying SwordsmenFlying Swordsmen
Designer: Daniel Solis Yin and Yang have gone mad. Their swordsmen are fighting to either convert or kill each other in the endless bamboo forest. The swordsmen units are represented by the double-sided black and white chips used in Othello/Reversi, but you can just as easily use coins or checkers. It’s important that the pieces be stackable. The game is played on two chess boards which actually represent two sides of a flat, square world. One side is the yin forest, the other side is the yang forest. Pieces are allowed to move off the edge of one board, re-appearing on the corresponding space on the other board, as if it had simply gone over the edge and appeared on the other side. You can have three different types of units: Singles (1 piece stack), Duos (2 piece stack), and Trios (3piece stack) -- each type of unit moves and attacks in different ways. he goal of the game is to leave only pieces of your type on your opponent’s side of the board. |
