Double Blind

Designer: Bruce Glassco
Publisher: About.com: 2005 Deduction Game Design Competition
Type: Board
Status: Free
Available from: http://boardgames.about.com/od/deductiongame1/a/double_blind.htm

Equipment:

  • Board with small squares (e.g. Go or Pente)
  • Colored stones for each player (e.g. Go or Pente) (Note: Graph paper and pencil may be used instead of the above components.)
  • A set of cards labeled 1 to 5.

Each player draws a hidden victory condition (which can be either to form a line, slash, suare/diamond, X, or cross). They then alternate placing tokens until one player has fulfilled BOTH conditions.

Each player takes turns placing his stones on the board, attempting nor only to finish his victory condition, but also to finish his opponent's (which is kept secret). If a player completes both victory conditions before his opponent, he wins.
