A Conflict Simulation of the Battle of Magnesia in 190BC between the armies of the Roman Republic and the Seleucid Empire.

The Battle of Magnesia was the major and decisive engagement of the Syrian War fought from 192BC to 188BC between the forces of Republican Rome and The Seleucid Empire. Following its crushing success in the 2nd Punic War, fought against Carthaginian forces most notably led by Hannibal and culminating in the Battle of Zama in 202BC, Rome was the dominant power in the western Mediterranean. Rome was also beginning to find success flexing its muscles in the eastern Mediterranean, this time following victory at the Battle of Kynoskephalai in 197BC against the Macedonian army of Phillip V in the 2nd Macedonian War. Meanwhile the Seleucid Empire covered the greatest land mass of any nation at this time, being the inheritor of the larger part of the empire of Alexander the Great from modern Turkey to India.
